What to check in a sample
By Raian Mehrak Noor, 24 October 2026
The sample is your chance to catch a problem while it costs nothing. Here is what to look at before you confirm an order, and how to tell us what to change.
Fabric
Feel the weight and the hand of the fabric, and compare it with what you asked for: cotton, polyester or a blend. Hold it up to the light to see how tightly it is woven. Stretch a seam gently to see if it recovers.
Colour
Look at the colour in daylight and under the light your customers will see it in. Compare it with your reference, not with a screen. If you can, wash the sample once and check that the colour holds and does not bleed.
Stitching and finish
Check that seams are straight and even, threads are trimmed, and buttons, zips and labels are secure. Turn the garment inside out: the inside shows the quality of the work.
Size and fit
Measure the sample against your size chart, not just by trying it on. Note any measurement that is off and by how much.
Tell us what to change
Write down each point with a photo and the measurement or reference it should match, and email it to us. We adjust and, if needed, send another sample. The approved sample becomes the standard your full order is checked against.
